Wow, it’s been a year of blogging already. Today is my one year blogiversary! Looking back, I see that I managed to post a lot more frequently in the beginning. I think I had a lot pent up that I wanted to get out, plus didn’t know yet about some of the great gifted communities already [...] C has been continuing to use EPGY at home, since his school has been less than supportive. After a long period of not requesting to use EPGY at school, C did ask for it two days in a row. The first day they had trouble getting it working and the next day they insisted he do [...] Last month, I got called a pushy parent by C’s school. I’m not too surprised about that, because I’ve spent months going back and forth with them about getting accommodations for C. This is despite the fact that I let them know about his needs when we applied last year and again over the summer before [...] It was back in October when C’s school agreed to let him use EPGY there. However, many weeks went by without anything happening. I casually asked about it at one point and they said they were waiting to hear how it was going at home. I explained it was going fine and so I thought they [...] Happy Thanksgiving! I can’t believe it’s been over a week since my last blog. I finally set a date for the GRE (12/10, wish me luck) and have been cramming instead of blogging. Of course last weekend I came down with what I suspect may be H1N1 (no doubt from volunteering at C’s school the week [...] Ok, so it’s been 4 months since I started “studying” for the GRE. I put studying in quotes, because I’ve spent far more time avoiding studying than actually studying. Plus the things I read 4 months ago when I started aren’t exactly fresh in my mind anymore. I need to buckle down and spend the rest [...] It’s been two weeks since C’s school agreed to let him use EPGY math there, but they have yet to start. I find it a bit disappointing how long it’s taken to get any accommodations in place considering how open I was about his needs prior to his starting there. Still, they at least are willing [...] We finally had a chance to try out the EPGY program over the weekend. We’re going through the Open Enrollment Program, thanks to Melissa on Davidson’s. Even though the math program started C quite low (.5, which is half way through kindergarten), he still enjoyed it. He loves doing just about anything on the computer, thankfully. [...] |
